The Sensible Choice for Jewish Memorials

The Jewish community of Boston’s North Shore has consistently chosen O’Rourke Brothers Memorials for quality headstones at a great value.

Jewish Monument 33k (2)O’Rourke Bros. Memorials strives to be the premier dealer in Jewish memorials on the North Shore.  We have helped countless families choose distinctive monuments that reflect the Jewish religious practices, traditions and beliefs.  Since purchasing O’Rourke Bros. Memorials in 1980, Gabriel Rossi Jr. has been privileged to educate customers of the cultural, historic and artistic elements that make up a Jewish headstone design.  We understand that the Jewish cemeteries of Boston’s North Shore are a tribute to the Jewish community at large.  Our goal at O’Rourke Bros. Memorials is to help you create a memorial that adds to that legacy.

For this reason, you can find our memorials in almost all the nearby Jewish cemeteries.  At our indoor showroom in Salem, MA we can show you our portfolio of past work, as well as advise you on new designs.  If you plan on using Hebrew on your memorial, we can assist you with transcribing inscriptions, verses, names and dates.  We provide a scale proof of the design of your headstone before anything is cut in stone.

We value our relationship with the Jewish community, as well as our close ties with many of the Synagogues in the area.  As a monument dealer, we work with the Jewish Cemetery Association of Massachusetts on a daily basis: ordering gravestone foundations, mailing permits, and ensuring that your gravemarker is installed on time.  We understand that many headstones are ordered while planning a burial service at the gravesite.  We have always provided veiling service at no additional charge.

Hi-Res Horiz 16   There are a few memorial sizes that are commonly employed in Jewish cemetery art: the single memorial, double memorial, and flat marker (both bronze and granite) being the most prevalent.  Within the constraints of these formats, we can create a memorial that is as traditional or as distinctive as you see fit.  We’ve provided a glossary of common symbols and motifs that are classically used in Jewish funereal art.  Of course, our draftsmen can customize any memorial to your unique specifications.

In addition to traditional headstones, O’Rourke Bros. Memorials has been chosen to create lasting historical monuments for the Jewish community.  Recently, we created a holocaust memorial for Maple Hill Jewish Cemetery in Peabody, incorporating a custom font design.  We are always honored to create holocaust memorials, war memorials and civic monuments for the Jewish community.

Katz Memorial at Temple Israel   We hope that you will give us a call while planning a Jewish headstone or flat grave marker.  We continue to offer a great value at reasonable prices.  Most importantly, our customers remark that in a time of mourning and difficulty, our careful approach and focus on the customer’s needs is just as evident as our technical expertise and memorial design experience.  Our testimonials speak for themselves.
